Here are is a list of various Educational Trust Grants available to students who meet the relevant criteria. Please see the criteria for eligibility to see if you are able to apply for any of the scholarships. The information below gives details about the various grants, however, students must apply for these grants directly and therefore BPP cannot guarantee the success of any application.

The Broadlands Home Trust

Undergraduates - Scholarship Details
Grants for young girls under the age of 22. Applications welcome from parents on behalf of daughters or from girls themselves. Grants are usually for educational purposes but also help young women starting out on their careers.

Donald Chesworth Educational Trust

Undergraduates - Scholarship Details
Home and overseas students. Small grants max. £250 per academic year. Evidence of financial hardship must be shown, and a report required at the end of study period. Priority given to those living in Tower Hamlets.

The Grantham Yorke Trust

Home students.
Under 25. Applicants must have been born within the (old) West Midlands Metropolitan County area.

Hull United Charities

Undergraduates - Scholarship Details
16-25 years of age.
Residents of Hull for more than 2 years prior to start of course.

The Nuffield foundation

Undergraduates - Scholarship Details
Women taking first degrees/courses only.
Formal and informal cost considered.
Women caring for children or adult relatives with specific needs.
Must be a resident in UK for three consecutive years.

Sir Walter St John’s educational charity

Undergraduates - Scholarship Details
Home students.
Residents of Wandsworth or Lambeth.
Under 25 years old. UG final year only (although some exceptional circumstances considered but only after application to university access to learning fund, and only for UG).

The Southdown Trust

Undergraduates - Scholarship Details
Home students, some foreign students considered.
Small educational grants for those who have shown enterprise.  

Employer sponsorship and training contracts (for future solicitors)

GDL-LPC-BPTC - Scholarship Details
Many law firms sponsor students through the GDL and LPC programmes and offer help towards living costs if you have secured a training contract with them. You will need to check the application deadlines and criteria with each firm and bear in mind that you may need to apply by the summer two years in advance. However, if you secure your training contract after having started the programme, some firms may reimburse you.

International Student Funding - Scholarship Details
Beit Trust Scholarships support postgraduate students who are domiciled in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe to study or undertake research in the UK.

Applicants must be under 30 years of age (35 in the case of medical doctors).

Mary Trevelyan Fund

Must be near the end of HE course.
Preference given to ISH members/residents.
From a developing country but no asylum seekers or refugees. Does not cover tuition fees.

Chevening scholarships (international students)

Disabled Students' Allowances

Disabled students' allowances (DSA's) are awarded by local education authorities. The allowance is to help you pay for extra costs that arise as a direct result of your disability

The Snowdon Award Scheme is a charity that provides grants to students with physical disabilities to help them complete further or higher education or training.

The Inderpal Rahal Memorial Trust (for future barristers)

Other Scholarships - Scholarship Details
The Inderpal Rahal Memorial Trust offers one or occasionally two grants per year to women from immigrant and refugee background who intend to teach or practise law in the UK. Applicants must complete and submit an application form and may be called for an interview.

Hilda Martindale Educational Trust

Other Scholarships - Scholarship Details
Open to British women pursuing a profession or career which will benefit the community and for which vocational training is required. Grants are given to help with the costs of training, but not for short, access, Masters or wholly academic courses. Applicants need to have exhausted all other possibilities. Grants are of less than £1000.
