Are you ready to Swish?
On 31 January, the BPP Student Association and BPP Pro Bono Centre will be hosting the first 'BPP Big Swish' of 2023 at our Waterloo, Manchester, and Leeds centres. The event will take place between 12pm and 2pm.
The BPP Big Swish follows the BPP Pro Bono Centre's #HandsUpforSecondHand social media campaign, which highlighted the environmental and ethical issues surrounding fast fashion and the throw away culture in the fashion industry. This campaign was delivered by BPP Pro Bono Centre as part of the Global Day of Action on Climate Justice.
What is 'Swishing'?
Swishing is the easy way to update your wardrobe! It's guilt free shopping with no cost to your wallet and great for the environment. Swishing works like a giant clothes swap: you bring items you no longer wear and exchange them for something new-to-you.
Are there any rules?
Yes.
- Clothing should be brought to your relevant centre between 23rd January 2023 and 11am on the 31 January 2023. Please don't leave items unattended in centre. You can contact emmablackstone@bpp.com (Leeds), Lucywildig@bpp.com (Manchester) or Ellieansher@bpp.com (Waterloo) to confirm when and where you can bring your items to swish and to be issued with your raffle tickets.
- Clothing must be in good condition and clean.
- No underwear, swimwear, socks, or tights.
- You receive a raffle ticket for each piece of clothing you bring. You can take one item of clothing per raffle ticket.
- Extra raffle tickets will be allocated to designer wear.
