The BPP Students' Association would like to thank the former Vice Chancellor Professor Carl Lygo for all his support and commitment to improving the student experience at the University. He worked tirelessly to ensure that all students were able to access an appropriate level of resource in order to derive the maximum benefit from their studies.
He took a real interest in not only the general student body but also those individuals who have had to overcome adversity in order to complete their studies. Over the twenty years he devoted to BPP he oversaw a fledgling higher education provider and grew it to the largest and one of the most prestigious Universities in its part of the sector.
He set out to make BPP a quality and respected provider and it is to his credit, and our collective benefit, he achieved this goal; he recognised the importance of good governance in his own Institution and in others and so it has come as no surprise that we recently learned of his appointment to the HEFCE Board, which is fitting recognition of his work and reputation.
The Students' Association wish him well for the future and also takes this opportunity to welcome Professor Tim Stewart into the role of Interim Vice Chancellor. We look forward to working with Tim over the coming months.
