Amnesty relies on the support of it's the member to promotes its vision.  And the student can play vital roles to achieve Amnesty's goal to achieve a fair and just world for everyone.

Brief Introduction: 

Amnesty International is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion.

Amnesty International vision is a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Amnesty International decades-long campaign has led to the death penalty being abolished in law or practice in two-thirds of the world's countries and Amnesty generated the global support needed for the establishment of the International Criminal Court in 2002 - so that those responsible for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity will face justice.

Amnesty relies on the support of it's the member to promotes its vision.  And the student can play vital roles to achieve Amnesty's goal to achieve a fair and just world for everyone.  Amnesty International value the contribution made by the students and run over hundred active student societies across the country.

Activities and Event:

  • Regular letter writing
  • Lobbying MPs
  •  Holding stalls to collect signatures for a petition, or to sign letters for a current campaign.
  • Organising comedy and other activities to fundraise
  •  Creating an imaginative poster campaign to raise awareness around student Union
  • Attending the Student Conference in November
  • Screening movies, which touch on human rights issues
  •  Organising debates, often with other societies
  •  Working with local Amnesty groups and other organisations in local community
  •  Using the student and local press
