2. Apply for any Learning Support allowances:

If you have a learning difficulty, disability or physical or mental health condition and you need adjustments to help you with your assessments then see the ‘Learning Support’ section and contact learningsupport@bpp.com.

Your Learning Support agreement must be in place at least one month in advance of your exams.

3. Check your exam platform:

Currently the majority of our examinations are done online, either written or oral.

Each exam is run on a specific platform: InsperaMicrosoft Teams, Turnitin or Panopto.

The platform which will be used should be described on the Hub/VLE in your module section.

If your exam platform or coursework is scheduled in Microsoft Teams, Turnitin or Panopto:

  • Your Programme team will co-ordinate these. For any queries about your assessment or time slot please contact your Programme team via a VLE Query or a Hub Query.

If your exam platform or coursework is scheduled in Inspera:

  • Your system complies with the specifications listed in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy

  • Inspera Assessments are co-ordinated by the University Assessment Office. Please see the Inspera section for further information and guides.

Ensure that you:

  • Read the appropriate Inspera guide.
  • Download or access the correct system.

If you are sitting a proctored (remotely invigilated) exam you will receive two emails from the Assessment team:

  • First email: 1-2 weeks before your exam:

This gives information about how to test your system.

It is important you test your system as soon as possible so that we can help you resolve any potential issue in advance of your exam. You must also check that you are using the most recent version of Inspera as the software is regularly updated.

For further information on checking the Compatibility of Inspera and how to login please watch the below video;

  • Second email: 1-2 days before your exam:

This informs you that your upcoming exam should now be visible to you in Inspera.

It also includes details of any Learning Support arrangements (further details are in the Inspera Guide below).

If you have any issues check the troubleshooting part of the guide, then contact Inspera@bpp.com as soon as possible.

Check that you can log in with your log in details in the 24 hours before your exam.

If you need further information on the functionality and features of Inspera please watch the below video;

4. Conduct mock assessment:

A couple of weeks in advance of your assessments you will have the opportunity to do a trial assessment which does not count towards your final aggregate mark. It is the same format as your actual exam so it is useful to see how your exam will work and what you can expect.  Your programme team marks these mock assessments and releases the results to you, whereas the University Assessment Office will release the results for your actual exams. Students are not emailed regarding mocks.

5. Book an assessment in centre, with or without a BPP computer:

If your home environment is not suitable to take an online proctored exam or if you need to use a BPP computer then you may be able to take your exam in a BPP University centre, please email Inspera@bpp.com to discuss alternative arrangements.

Please ensure you email at least 10 days before your exam, and include your SRN number, course, details of your exam, location and reasons for your request (such as unsuitable home environment). Please note that bookings are for online proctored exams only and dependent on availability.

Please note that if you take an exam in a BPP centre then you will be sitting it in the same way as everybody else. There will be no invigilator present and if you have any technical issues you will need to email our dedicated digital assessment team on inspera@bpp.com.

Any bookings must be done at least 10 days in advance of your exam. During the booking process please clarify in the notes section that you will be taking an exam.

6. Request any coursework extension time before your exams:

If you need additional time to submit your coursework it is possible to request an extension of time from your Programme team. These requests must be made well in advance of your examinations and all queries relating to them must be directed to the Programme team.

7. Extenuating Circumstances:

If you know in advance of your exam that you will be unable to attend, then you must apply for an extentuating circumstance.
Further information can be found in the extenuating circumstances’ section of the student association website.
